1. I superannuated as Director, Central Research Institute for Jute & Allied Fibres under Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Government of India after having served for five years and a half. Before that I served at Central Soil Salinity Research Institute Research Station Canning Town I served there in various capacities in two phases for a total period of nearly twenty five years, last nearly 15 years at a stretch as Officer-in-Charge. In between I served as Senior Scientist at the Central Rice Research Institute. I am now a faculty member of the Raman Institute of Applied and Interdisciplinary Sciences, an accomplished R&D NGO located at Kolkata. 2. I have made 160 research publications in national and international journals, books and reports. 3. I have guided five students towards their PhD degree so far. I am involved in teaching at the post-graduate level at Calcutta University on Soil Physics & and Water Management for the last above 23 years.I am also involved as question setter and examiners at PG level and for service recruitment process of a number of universities and national bodies.
